It would be hard to ask for a better week of original programming than the one just handed to us by the major streamers. Amazon has the big-budget fantasy series, The Wheel of Time, back for its third season on Prime Video. Apple TV+ has debuted a terrific new crime series, Dope Thief, while Peacock has entered the chat with one of its most arresting original shows to date: Long Bright River.
It’s hard to go wrong with any of those shows, but there’s still more to enjoy in the streaming-verse. Disney+ and Max are running new episodes of Daredevil: Born Again and The Righteous Gemstones every week. Both of those series are appointment TV, even if you can watch them whenever you choose.

Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Max, Disney+, Paramount+, Peacock, and Apple TV+ all have one thing in common: They’re more expensive than they used to be. We can live with higher rates as long as new shows keep coming, but it’s always a good idea to consider signing up for the ad-supported tiers, which are worth it if you can sit through a few commercials.
